PROJECT REQUIREMENTS

Photo manipulation starts with a clear reference.

Provide a reference layout showing which elements to combine, their positions and the intended background. Include the best available source assets and identify product details that must remain accurate.

Lighting, camera angle and resolution affect how well supplied elements fit together. We assess the assets before quoting reconstruction or compositing work, and agree whether a layered PSD is part of the delivery.

PLANNING YOUR EDIT

Photo manipulation for a consistent product presentation

A successful composition starts with a specific purpose. Tell us whether the finished image will appear on a product page, a website banner, a printed catalogue or a social campaign. Each placement can need a different crop, amount of background space and balance between the product and supporting elements.

For ecommerce work, identify the features customers need to see clearly. Product shape, labels, controls, materials and included accessories should match the item being offered. If a reference shows a different colour or configuration, explain which version is correct before we begin.

Choose source images that work together

Send original, full-resolution photographs whenever possible. Screenshots and heavily compressed previews can limit edge quality and visible detail. When combining several photographs, similar camera angles and lighting make it easier to create a believable result. Include an alternative view if a key area is hidden in the main photograph.

Mark unwanted objects or areas to replace on a separate reference copy. Keep the original files unchanged, and name the assets so their intended roles are clear. A simple layout sketch can help explain positions, proportions and space reserved for headlines or other design elements.

Agree the finish before production

State the required background, final dimensions, orientation and intended use. If the image needs text, provide the exact wording and placement. Tell us whether you need separate versions for different formats, because adapting a composition can involve more than resizing the same file.

For a series of images, share one approved visual reference and identify which details should remain consistent across the batch. We can then discuss the composition, colour treatment and output requirements as part of the quote. The agreed brief provides a clear reference when you review the finished work.

Review files against your brief

Check the delivered image at its intended display size and inspect important details at full resolution. Review product edges, object proportions, lighting direction and any areas where supplied elements meet. Send consolidated feedback with marked examples so the requested corrections are easy to understand.

Corrections are assessed against the agreed scope. New source images, a different layout or additional versions may require a revised quote and delivery schedule. Read our service and revision policy for guidance, or include your requirements when requesting a photo manipulation quote.

A straightforward way to work together

  1. Send samples and your brief. Include quantity, output requirements and deadline.
  2. Approve the scope and quote. We agree the edits and delivery details before production.
  3. Review your edited files. Tell us about any corrections against the agreed brief.
